Castleconnel has developed as a popular angling resort, which is unsurprising giving the catches enjoyed on this stretch of the Shannon. The world-renowned salmon fishery draws game anglers. Four of the eight beats are let by tender and four work on a day ticket basis. Each beat is limited to three rods a day. Boats give access to the large pools.
