We enjoyed our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful and the Italian restaurant, Spago, was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean and breakfast was good. Parking in high storey carpark was very handy for the hotel and there was no charge, I think because we took breakfast. The hotel location is good as we wanted to break our journey en route to the South West and it was easy to find.

Stayed at hotel for one overnight stay while attending a friend's 30th. Check in was uneventful although receptionist dealt with a phone call & chatted to a felow staff memeber while dealing with us which i felt a little unprofesional. Room was adequate but i wouldn't have said up to 4* standard - Quite small with curtain pole hanging off wall and cobwebs in the corners. Didn't visit either the bar or restaurant during our short stay so cannot appraise. Overall cheap and perfect for our stay being right in cenre of town but would have fallen short of expectations if expecting a romantic weekend away.

The Staff. They could not do enough for you. Felt it was excellent value so we stayed an exra night. The minus side was that the hotel restaurant was only open 2 nights a week so we could not avail of it.

it was a beautiful hotel, we were very impressed. We were part of a wedding group and everybody had high praise for staff and venue. If I would have one issue it would be that the dance floor is at the far end of room. It would have been nice if it was in the middle of the room.

It was a short but pleasant stay we did not use any of the facilities but there seemed to be a great range available. It is very central hotel in Portlaoise.
