Recalling a world of sturdy elegance where the natural blend of proud craftsmanship and enduring quality were commonplace, the Georgian townhouse sought to balance tradition with fashions of the day. In more recent times respect for quality workmanship, richly textured furnishings and ornate artifacts has diminished. At Yesterdays we have retained a love of quality and design, offering fine brass lamps and mirrors, richly woven cushions and throws, luxurious scarves, wraps and shawls and much more ensuring that choice and splendour is still available for the more discerning eye.
Description
Until you visit Yesterdays it is impossible to imagine what we are. The mystery of the unexplained is fulfilled on passing through our doors. Children are drawn to the magic of its colour and the fantasy of its past. Ladies appreciate the tasteful elegance and splendid originality of pieces for the home, jewellery for themselves and gifts for others that say so much. For gentlemen Yesterdays is nostalgic reminder of a world of simple pleasures and a source of inspiration for the truly romantic.
Location
Dominated by its 12th century castle Kilkenny City has reserved a very special place in Irish history. Formerly a seat of the Irish Parliament this medieval capital today retains its unique standing in Irish commercial, cultural and sporting life. For this a tremendous debt of gratitude is owed to the city fathers who have laboured valiantly to maintain the old world charm of Kilkenny and place it firmly on the itinerary of every discerning visitor to this region. Renowned for its traditional timber fronted shops, pubs and restaurants the shopping district of Kilkenny is unrivalled throughout Ireland. Hidden away among the Georgian townhouses of Lower Patrick Street the award winning Yesterdays is to be found. Home to a truly unique collection of pieces from around the world ranging from procelain dolls, jewellery, gallery prints, lamps and soft furnishings. Rich in texture and visually breathtaking it is the store where enlightened locals go for design-led quality items. A stay in Kilkenny is not complete without a visit to Yesterdays.

Porcelain Dolls
In Victorian times no girls bedroom was complete without a procelain doll. Today the tradition of doll collecting is stronger than ever. At Yesterdays we are reviving the quality designs of Victorian times. As a gift porcelain dolls are without compare touching the hearts of ladies both young and not so young. Truly a gift for all occasions.
