Graiguenamanagh is a hidden town in the sunny South East, off the beaten track and thus quieter than most of the holiday destinations. On the boarder of Carlow and Kilkenny, the River Barrow splits the town as it leads south to the busy streets of New Ross. Scenic Inistigoe is nearby, home to film making in the region (Widows Peak), with Woodstock Gardens. Carriglead Golf Course is just a walk away, or travel just a little further to Mount Juliet near Kilkenny. Waterford with its famous crystal display and shop is a must if you are in the region for a few days.
Kilkenny, as a county, is renowned for the great concentration of craft workers found in the area and Graiguenamanagh is no exception to this. Cushendale Woollen Mills, Bernard Kavanagh Pottery and Duiske Glass are the best known of the local craft businesses.
