The Rising Sun Guesthouse & Lounge
The Rising Sun Guest House and Lounge is based 8 miles from Waterford City on the Kilkenny Road.
It was originally known as 'The Rising Sun Ale House', built in 1644 during the Cromwellian era. It has over the past number of years been restored with splendid detail by its owners, Jim and Breda Phelan.
The old world charm of stone and timber work throughout the building sets the tone of comfort and relaxation.<

From the time you park your car in the spacious private car park and enter the lounge you are greeted by friendly and helpful staff and of course the heart of a real Irish country welcome is the magnificent open fireplace.
This re-creation is a work of art with its wind-up bellows so you can stoke up the fire while relaxing with a fine beverage from one of the three bars or enjoying some of our home cooked cuisine.

There is an allocation of 10 bedrooms. Each room is decorated as the rest of the building to the very highest standard with views of the beautiful Mullinavat countryside.
All rooms have a private bathroom and for your added comfort colour TV, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
To complement all of this is a wide selection of food which is freshly prepared in the kitchens from locally grown produce.

The Rising Sun Function Room is capable of seating 160 - 200 people (function style). For meetings or conferences we can cater for up to 300 people seated (theatre style). Other meeting rooms are available for up to 50 people for the smaller conference.
The tastefully decorated room which is finished in beautiful native ash is the ideal setting for your weedding or party. A wide and varied function menu is available on request.

Fishing & Water Sports | Mullinavat is located in close proximity to the rivers Suir, Nore and Barrow, which have some of the best wild fishing in Ireland. Therivers Suir and Nore are renowned for Salmon and trout.
This part of Ireland is famous for its beaches; Woodstown, Dunmore East, Annestown. Ardmore, Kilfarassey, Bunmahon and of course Tramore. Water Sports are well catered for in most of these areas where surfing, skiing and scuba diving can all be enjoyed.
