Melrose House is an eye catching Georgian House located on the Circular Road in the Kilkenny city suburbs just minutes walk from the city centre. It’s a large and resplendent house with a certain character. It offers top quality, spacious, B&B accommodation with four en suite rooms. Close to town, you can amble into the city centre and enjoy the various sights of Kilkenny, and then relax in the spacious guest rooms. Each of the rooms is equipped with a hair dryer, television and tea and coffee making facilities, and the whole premises is central heated and non-smoking.

Staying at Melrose House puts you in an excellent position to enjoy the town of Kilkenny and its surrounding areas. Marvel at the majestic architecture characterised by the limestone facades, trawl the assortment of pubs, bars and restaurants and visit such monuments as Kilkenny Castle and the St Francis Abbey Brewery where Smithwicks and Kilkenny beer is produced. If you fancy a round of golf you can play at nearby Kilkenny, Castlecomer, or Callan, to name but a few of the local courses.

Very friendly welcome when I went to check in. The bedroom was lovely, clean and the bathroom was also very clean. The next morning at breakfast the lady of the house was very friendly and had a nice word for everyone at breakfast. Breakfast was nice.

The host was very welcoming and the bedroom was comfortable but the dining room, which was also the living room, was very cluttered. It was close enough to the city centre but was at least a 15 minute walk.
