The Kytelers Inn, steeped in tradition, history and folklore, is by reputation, probably the most famous inn in Ireland. The infamous Dame Alice Kyteler, by accounts a banker/money lender, brothel keeper and black witch, first established business on this medieval site in the misty realms of 1324.
Today this prestigious bar restaurant pays homage to the quality social habitats of yesteryear with theme conscious remodelling, period decor and refurbishing giving the premises its sophisticated atmospheric appeal. Cut stone, sturdy oak beams, wooden floors, old fashioned individual furniture and large open fires create a warm unhurried atmosphere. Antique French horns and a collection of ‘orchestral’ items like the tuba and violin artistically adorn.
