Very pleasant experience.
Overall the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel was excellent both in its value and service, with the execption of one female receptionist who was on duty when we arrived on the Friday early afternoon and was still at the desk when we checked later in the evening. Oh how we appeared to be such a bother to her!! and she actually threw our key accross the desk to the other young helpful lady who was on reception. We thankfully did not see the young 'lady' in question again during our stay or check out on the Sunday Morning
Lovely hotel in a great location. Shame about the nonsense check in times and the lack of bar staff.
Good location for touring around
Perhaps my best experience in a hotel in Ireland; I have unfortunately not encoutered better service and friendliness in this country. Of particular mention would be waiter Steven and Emma at reception. Steven organized hot food to be delivered to the hotel after their restaurant was closed, while Emma arranged for breakfast to be delivered to the room at 5am as we were fasting. It was only marred by our second day in the hotel when a communication error between staff resulted in breakfast not being delivered for our morning meal in time. That could've been a big problem if we did not have leftovers from the day before. The staff incharged of room service apologized though for the mix-up.
Excellent hotel
We had a wonderful time, facilities great. Swimming pool great size, staff and service exellent even though they were very busy. All round good value, coming from England , a little cheaper would not go a miss, but would stay again.
Hotel was lovely. thought the staff at both reception could have been a bit more helpful. When we checked in all that was done was the administration there was no info given about the hotel or amenities or general chit chat. Thought the staff in the leisure centre could also have been a little more helpful.We said it was our first time using the facilities and we weren't given any information. These are only small things and didn't say them to the staff when we were there.
Clean, modern, quiet and more than comfortable. The Leisure Centre and Spa across the road was lovely, but unfortunately I left it too late to book an appointment. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would visit it again.
check in was printed as 15.oo hrs and when we arrived we were told it was 16.00 hrs...and it was our mistake!!! Check in is too late at 16.00 hrs
All the staff was very friendly and professional apart from the cleaning ladies who knocked at our door and woke us up at 9.00 whereas we didnt have to leave the bedroom before 12.00. The hotel was very pleasant and the bedoom very confortable, the breakfast was very very good.
The hotel was fantastic and I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
