It is on the outskirts of the city opposite St. Luke's Hospital and next to the Dog Track. The proprietor gave me the number of a hackney to use getting back at night, this was a God send as I did not have to wait in the taxi queue. I arrived after 9pm but was able to get some food in the bar as there was a nearby residents party on there.
Thought the service was excellent, breakfast was great and barfood was v gud, good sandwiches and steak. Bar was very quiet on Saturday night, but that was what we wanted. Fire doors in corridors are quite noisy when closing/banging near bedroom
EVERITHING EXELLENT, VERY KIND OWNER AND PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE! VERY ELEGANT AND CLEAN HOTEL SURRROUNDED BY QUIET (NO NOISE, NO TRAFFIC AND NO POLLUTION! LCD TV IN ROOMS, BIG ROOMS! REALLY WORTH TO GO THERE!
room smelled of smoke,ash tray in room, no kettle or provision to make hot drink, had to pay on arrival expensive for what i got will not use again.

The facilities were top notch and very comfortable! The only problem was that there seemed to be no hotel staff to address any "problems" - they seemed to be understaffed and when I checked out early to catch an early bus there was no one at the desk or anywhere around (the lobby was dark) so I was unable to get my deposit back for the internet cable I had used. I left a note with my key and the cable and have heard nothing from them yet. Similar situation with needing a taxi - after calling the front desk numerous times to get information for a local taxi service I went down only to find that it was abandoned and dark early in the evening. The description was a bit misleading as far as distance from the city - it was quite a ways from the city center bus stop - about a 30 minute walk with luggage (a walk that would is fairly nice without luggage and when one is well rested).
The room was lovely, very comfortable. I did think it was cold though and the heat was turned on when I asked. I do think it would be better for them to have a supplier for soap/shower gel, rather than using Lidl brands. The bar food was not good but the breakfast was very good, despite the lack of wholemeal brown bread.
