Wool and wool products have been closely associated with the Graig-na-managh area for many hundreds of years. In fact, the wealth of the great Cistercian Abbey of Duiske, around which the town later grew, was largely based on the export of wool. Later, the arrival of Flemish weavers led to the establishment of local enterprises for the production of various woollen fabrics. Their successors still make woollen goods in the town which are sold throughout Ireland and exported to many parts of the world. Over time, the products have naturally evolved and changed but the experience of centuries is drawn on in the making of today's designs. An extensive range of woollen products:- Blankets, Throws, Shawls, Scarves, etc. in Irish Wool, Mohair/Wool, Lambswool and Merino wool, as well as other Craft goods, may be purchased in the Millshop which is located beside the Mill in High Street.
