The Cityscope Exhibition is centred on an accurately reconstructed scale model of Kilkenny as it was in 1640. The walled city is presented as it was at the height of its power and influence and is used to tell the evolving story of Ireland's Mediaeval Capital and, in particular, to convey a sense of the everyday life, work and living pattern of the day. Also housed in the same historic building, built in 1582 is the Smallworld Miniatures Exhibition. There the "Kilkenny House" is being constructed in an 8 year project which will, in a stylised way and in miniature, indicate how houses and furnishings have changed over the last five hundred years.
