For a stay at a Kilkenny guesthouse that has some real history to it, choose a break at the wonderful Butler House in Kilkenny city.

This is the former residence of the Duchess of Ormonde and the 'royal' feel still exists today with stately pillars, splendid interior, superb plasterwork and a walled garden at the rear of the property – an authentic Georgian townhouse if ever there was one!

Butler House's guesthouse accommodation consists of 13 bedrooms and in-room amenities include telephone, tea making facilities, trouser press, television and hair dryer.

Butler house is a beautiful guesthouse in a wonderful location, right by the castle and in the center of things. The Kilkenny design center is in its backyard and breakfast is in the design center's restaurant. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend the Butler House to anyone visiting Killkeny.
