Auburndale B&B offers comfortable accommodation at a reasonable rate. Your host’s Teresa & Pat Holden will welcome you into their home where they have been entertaining guests since 1991.

As a young Man I joined the US navy Seabees in 1966 Boot camp Davisvlle Rhode Island then Port Hueneme Oxnard California and ended up in Vietnam went on R&R to Australia and was discharged from Pier 91 Seattle Washington then returned to New York and worked as a Carpenter Married and returned to Ireland in 1976.

Directions

Take the Ring Road to the Waterford Road roundabout. Exit the N10 towards Waterford. Auburndale is immediately visible on the left hand side. Take the first left turn after exiting and you are still on the N10.

If you are approaching Kilkenny from the new Motorway the M9 take Exit # 9 into Kilkenny and Auburndale Bed and Breakfast is the first house on the right hand side after the Springhill Hotel and there is a red sign in the garden.

Duiske Abbey And Abbey Centre
This beautiful abbey is located in the town centre and is a fine example of an early Cistercian Abbey (A.D. 1204). It consists of many fine Lancet windows and has a large effigy of a Norman Knight.
Dunmore Cave
Dunmore Cave is located in Ballyfoyle, 11km from Kilkenny. It is known in old Irish literature as one of the darkest places in Ireland and as the place where the monster Luchtigern 'The Lord of the Mice' was slain. All is explained an interpretive centre and site museum at the entrance to the cave.

The hosts were very welcoming, the accommodations very pleasant. Would definitely stay at Auburndale again. Also, we loved Kilkenny, a very interesting city.
