The festival is centred in Kildare Town but groups also perform at other locations throughout the county. Kildare is on the main Dublin to Cork road and is easily accessible by train and bus.

Description
The Kildare International Folk Arts Festival will take place in August and will bring together International and Irish folk dance and music groups to celebrate a tradition of music, song and dance to play a part in passing it on to future generations. The festival is organised by Kildare Town Twinning Association in conjunction with The Institute For International Cultural Exchange.
This photo captures the Poligrodzianie folk dance group from Poznan, Poland who performed during a previous festival.
Location
Participants will include a range of international folkdance groups who will perform alongside Irish folkdance groups and bands, including a number of groups from Co Kildare. Photo Caption includes: Coro Matteo Peru performing during the festival a few years ago.
Navy Pipe Band
Photo shows Bagad de Lann Bihoue, the French Navy Pipe Band from Brittany, France who performed at a previous festival.
Tourist Attractions
Attractions in and around Kildare include the Japanese Gardens, National Stud, St Brigid's Cathedral, Carmelite White Abbey and The Curragh racecourse. Also close by is the historic Bog of Allen and Lullymore Heritage Park. Kildare town boasts a variety of restaurants serving Irish and international cuisine and many pubs with live Irish music. Photo shows the Landers Folk Dance Group who appear at the festival on an almost annual basis.
