This atmospheric, fully licensed restaurant was named after one of the town’s best known characters, a local man named Butt Mullins. The building itself has a chequered history built on the former site of the North Gate to Naas.
Around 1840 there was a handball alley here and some of the original stones from the alley have been used in the present building. The premises has been meticulously recreated in olde-worlde fashion - its styling reminiscent of the quality social habitats of yesteryear. Lots of mementoes and artefacts from bygone days both inside and outside are displayed. Seasoned timbers, wooden floors, stained glass and cut stone give this restaurant its informal character and cosy ambience.
There are various, intimate dining areas within, suitable for a family gathering, a business meal or a romantic candlelight dinner. The menu proffers an exciting choice of dishes, fish, meat, fowl, steaks, vegetarian and pastas etc. A friendly panel of staff are on hand to advise and ensure everything is to your satisfaction.
