world bodhran championships

The World Bodhrán Championship is a unique musical and cultural experience. Whether you're a fan of the bodhrán, love Irish traditional music or just want a great day out, then come along to Milltown County Kerry during the June bank holiday.

As well as the main competition to find the best bodhrán player in the world, they'll also be plenty of street entertainment, workshops, pub sessions and open-air concerts.

The festival will kick off on the Friday evening at 7.30pm with the opening ceremony and the blessing of the bodhráns. Beoga will play the Friday night with the Chieftains playing the Saturday night. Sunday night will culminate with the Bodhrán Final which should be a very exciting event!
