Tubrid Cottage is a unique two bed roomed luxury cottage located on a quiet by road just a ten minute stroll from the heritage town of Kenmare.  This house was originally built in the late 19th century and was extended and sensitively renovated in 2007.  It is in an unrivalled position overlooking Kenmare Bay and Caha mountains to the front and overlooking the McGillicuddy reeks, Ireland’s highest mountains to the rear.

The cottage is furnished to a very hight 4 star standard with a fully fitted kitchen with little extras like a coffee maker and American style fridge with ice maker, a stunning sitting room with luxurious couches and antique furniture.  The house has a great collection of books and maps for guests use.

Description
This house has full access to the lands of Tara Farm and Tubrid Cove .  The lands of Tara Farm stretch to the shores of Kenmare Bay with River Finnehy flowing through farm and also private shore. 

The Maybury Family have been in the accommodation business since 1967 when Margaret Maybury first took in Guests.  The family business is now run by Anne and Richard so you can be assured of a personal service and welcome at all times.

We are opened all year round.   
Fly/Drive Shannon Airport:
Drive from Shannon Airport to Limerick, take the N20 and N21 through Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale and Castleisland to Killarney. Reach Kenmare via the N71. The journey by car is an estimated 3 hours.

Fly/Drive Kerry Airport (Fastest!):

From the airport, head towards Killarney via the N71. Reach Kenmare via the N71. The journey by car is an estimated 1 hour.

Fly/Drive Cork Airport:

From Cork Airport, begin by heading towards Cork but then take the 1st roundabout and turn off towards Killarney via the sign for the N22. Pass through Macroom and Ballymageery and then take the Kenmare juntion (Do not continue to Killarney). Pass through Killgarvan before reaching Kenmare. The journey by car is an estimated 1 3/4 hours.

The large oak and deal stairs leads from the living room up to two very large bedrooms.  Bedroom one has a queen bed and pine furnishings with ensuite, shower toilet and basin and superb view of the bay and mountains.  Bedrooms two has a Queen and single bed, mahogany furnishings, ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower, toilet.  Both these rooms are carpeted throughout and the master bedroom also has a television. The bedroom furnishings, linens and towels are of a very high standard .

The ground floor is occupied by a small entrance porch leading to a very large living room with feature limestone fireplace and Charnwood stove.  It is furnished to a very high standard with luxury couches, antique furniture and rugs.  This living room also has a beautiful dining table and chairs, lovely pictures, games and wall hangings. 

This room is connected to the kitchen which is fully fitted with dishwasher, coffee maker, juicer, hob, oven, sandwich maker, American style side by side fridge and freezer with ice maker and drinks cooler.  There is a large oak table and six chairs for meals.  The ground floor also has utility room with washing machine, dryer, sink and boiler and leading off this a ground floor toilet and washbasin.

Kenmare

Kenmare is an ideal centre from which to tour the south west scenic routes.  It has lovely shops , award winning restaurants and traditional music is played nightly in Town.  There are 3 Riding Stables within easy reach and the Star Sailing and Outdoor pursuit centre is only 4 kilometres away. 

For the Golf enthusiast Kenmare has an 18 hole Links with very affordable green fees and the Ring of Kerry is just 3 kilometres from the house.  Tubird Cottage is also within driving distance of the famed Waterville , Killarney and Ballybunion courses.

Kenmare is a paradise for walking enthusiasts.  Seafari wildlife cruises operate from Kenmare Pier on a daily basis and this is a very worthwhile trip to see Kenmare Bay at its best.  Boats and Canoes are available for hire and deep sea diving can also be arranged.
