The Malton is a 4 star hotel situated on 6 acres of private gardens in the heart of Killarney Town. Formerly the Great Southern Hotel, The Malton has been a favourite of locals and visitors alike for over 150 years. The pillared entrance and ivy-clad facade of this classic Victorian landmark hotel still convey a sense of occasion. Recent refurbishment has restored the vibrancy and brilliance to the elegant interior, making it every bit as breathtaking as when it first opened its doors in 1854.  

The Grand Foyer and coffee rooms at the Malton are popular meeting places for a drink with friends or afternoon tea. The bar on the ground floor is a busy, lively spot and serves food all day. For somthing a little more formal, there is the The Garden Room Restaurant or Peppers A La Carte Restaurant.

The hotel is just steps away from the Railway Station and the Killarney Outlets Shopping Centre and a 5 minute walk from the Bus Station.


Directions to the malton
The Malton Hotel couldn't be in better position for visitors to Killarney.  It's set right in the heart of Killarney town overlooking the Railway Station.

If you're driving, whatever direction you approach the town from, just follow the signs to the Railway Station. Another landmark to watch out for is the Factory Outlet Centre.

If you arrive by bus, simply walk through the Factory Outlet Centre. When you emerge at the other side, look to your left and you'll see the hotel entrance.

The spectacular Grand Foyer of this historical building depicts the infusion of distinctive architecture with exquisite modern comforts. The Grand Foyer with its soft velvet sofas, opulent drapes and plush carpets offers the perfect platform where one can relax and unwind with Afternoon Tea and read a good book from the Library.

The Punchbowl Bar is the ideal venue to host pre dinner drinks and canapés in front of a blazing log fire in winter or in the summer an aperitif al fresco. An extensive lounge menu is served daily between 12 – 6pm.   

Garden Room Restaurant, with it's magnificant Victorian dome ceiling, is truly an enchanted stage for a pleasurable dining experience. Only the freshest of locally sourced produce makes it to your table.

Peppers Steak and Seafood Grill. Contemporary cooking inspired from the classic, infused with the modern. Peppers Steak and Seafood Grill has been a true favourite among the locals of Killarney more than 10 years. 
The in-house bakery provides freshly made breads and pasteries for the hotel every day.
