Caitin's is supposed to be one of the first legalised 'shebeens' in Ireland. Steeped in history and folklore, the pub has been patronised by some of Irelands most famous statesmen, such as Daniel O'Connell and the literary great Brendan Behan. O'Connell's visits were legendary. It's known that on his many journeys he stopped here to change horses and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and wholesome food.
