We stayed in a three star room, it was obvious that it was previously used as either just a double room or just a single room, as the double bed was pushed in against the wall to accomodate the single bed which was in the room. Not at all practical seeing as it was a very small room anyway. We were very disappointted with such a make-shift effort.

Hotel and rooms were very tastefully decorated. We had an issue with the heating, which after the first night stopped working resulting in the room being particularly cold. Solution was to put an electric radiator in the room which was insufficient to heat the room. Apart from that, we really enjoyed the hotel and it's fantastic surroundings.
Standard of facilities was first class. Staff did not resolve issue (Faulty TV screen). Wrong meal delivered in restaurant. Restaurant opening times too restrictive (open at 08:00, close at 21:00). These details let down high standard of room and excellent health suite.
I was travelling with my sister and we were both really pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The rooms were excellent - modern, clean and well kept. The whole hotel was a pleasure to stay in. I loved the decor and and the style. It was wonderful to have use of the gym and pool facilities also. The reception staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. I have and will continue to tell people about this hotel and that they should go and stay there! My only suggestion for improvement is to have more communication about breakfast services as on our first morning we ordered a hot breakfast and expected this to be the same on our second morning. We waited and waited to be served, eventually asking to make an order only to be told that this time we were to select our own from a hot buffet. That aside, there was a fantastic range and choice at breakfast and next time I would like to dine at the hotel in the evening.
Ended up in old part of hotel which looked a bit grubby and the rooms very just ok. Would not go back if I thought we were going to stay in the old part again.
Please accept our apologies that you were allocated one of our rooms in the older part of the hotel and it did not meet your expectations. Since 2007 the Kenmare Bay has been under going extensive re devolvement and up grading. During this period we have added 44 superior new rooms, Leisure centre, food and beverage facilities and 32 superior holiday homes. Since February we have nearly completed the refurbishment of a further 36 of our rooms in the hotel and we will be carrying on refurbishment and re-development in the hotel to ensure that we offer a superior hotel at great value for money. This is our second time here and it was a disappointment from the first time. The room was far away from reception/bar and because it was one of one of the older rooms there was a musty smell, but other than that it was ok.
I liked it enough to say I would easily stay there again and recommend it to friends. However, considering a large portion of the population are dieters (or attempters) the hotel might consider setting the trend (since it is new enough) to offer more for the dieters. For example, if you would have something small like substitute sugar and low-fat milk and or fat free milk as possibilities.
It was very good and i was happy with the service.
Very happy with accomodation for the weekend. We found Kenmare Bay the perfect location for a relaxing stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff extremely friendly.
Great hotel. Great value. Service & staff excellent. Need to revamp 3* rooms though. Will definitely recommend to friends!
