The opening of Listowel Golf Course in 1995 was the fulfilment of a deam for its proprietor, Michael F. Barrett, a past captain (1970-1971) and President (1990-1991) of the world-renowned Ballybunion Golf Club. The course is dominated by a towering wood which runs like a spine through its middle.
