Ballybunion Beaches

Ballybunion

Ballybunion is known throughout the world for its fine beaches, warm waters and glorious views!
There are two commonly used beaches in Ballybunion, known as Ballybunion North and Ballybunion South.
These beaches are accessed by large, very steep concrete pavements and they are divided by a cliff. On this cliff you'll find the ruins of a very old castle. Unlike most beaches, Ballybunion has a history behind its beaches. The beach to the left of the castle is called the "Men's Beach", and the one to the right the "Ladies Beach", so called because years ago men bathed on a separate beach from women and children.
There is a small cafe, hot seaweed baths and an ice cream shop on the women's beach.. The large cliffs to the right of the womens beach has shallow caves - feel free to explore these but do take care! <

Description
The sheer cliffs over the beach have a scenic walking path, which features a blowhole, views of Sea Stacks and a multitude of wildlife. It takes about 20 minutes to walk and brings you round to the "Nun's Beach", a beautiful beach with no access that is overlooked by a convent.
