Ard na Sidhe Country House is a delightfully charming hotel/guesthouse situated on the beautiful shores of Caragh Lake, just a few minutes drive from the town of Killorglin which offers a real “home away from home” feel.

With ten bedrooms in the Main house and 8 in the Garden House (a separate building, just a short hop across the pathway), Ard na Sidhe is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Enjoying the luxury of having no televisions at the hotel, Ard na Sidhe is an ideal base for walking, touring, golfing or just re-energising and with an intimate dining room serving first class cuisine, you can look forward to a hearty meal at the end of a day’s touring.

Numerous local attractions lie in the vicinity of the hotel, including the Ring of Kerry, several golf courses, sandy beaches, nature trails & walks, to name but a few.

The hotel is closed from 15th October 2008 until 1st May 2009.

Directions

In Killorglin, follow the signs to the top of the town and turn left in front of the Garda Barracks, along Langford Street.

Continue out this road, following the signs for Caragh Lake. In Caragh Village, fork left opposite the school and continue along this windy road for a couple of miles and Ard na Sidhe is on your right hand side.

Rooms

All 18 spacious bedrooms at Ard na Sidhe are delightfully appointed rooms adorned with antique furniture and furnishings and all of the rooms have large and generously sized ensuite bathrooms. There are 3 superior and 7 standard rooms in the main house and 2 Superior and 6 Standard Rooms in the Garden House.

Ard na Sidhe is one of the few hotels which enjoys the luxury of no televisions in the hotel, however each room does have direct dial telephone and ensuite bathroom and room service is available until 11pm.

Facilities

The Lounge at Ard na Sidhe lends itself to snuggling up beside the fire with a book and an after dinner drink and you cannot help but relax and unwind. The hotel has a lovely dining room which is open for breakfast and dinner daily.

Local Area

Killorglin Town is only 5 minutes from the hotel, here you will find a good range of bars and dining options. For something different try 'Sol y Sombra', this tapas/wine bar is located in a converted church and well worth a visit for a light snack and glass of wine in the evening.

The town of Killarney is a 20 minute drive from Caragh Lake, the town itself offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. While the outside of the town is renowned throughout Ireland for its beauty, popular places to visit are the Killarney National Park where you can gaze at the stunning Lakes of Killarney, Muckross House and Gardens, Torc Waterfall and Ross Castle - to name but a few.

Good morning…. I am pleased to be able to provide commentary on our visit to the Ard Na Sidhe Country House in Kerry, as it was a totally enjoyable experience. The location on high ground overlooking Caragh Lake was spectacular and access to the lakeshore convenient via quality pathways. The grounds themselves were outstanding, with clearly marked extensive plantings. The room was of high quality with equally high quality en suite bathroom facilities. All the windows were leaded glass and there were extensive period decorations throughout the hotel. We had our dinner at the hotel. The food was of exceptional quality….and presented in a very attractive and professional manner. This was typical of the overall service that was provided at Ard Na Sidhe Country House. I will be highly recommending this hotel to our friends. ( Robert M. Carlson Duluth, Minnesota)
