Kells, Meath
Hadfort demesne, once the seat of the Marquesses of Headfort, is located one mile south east of Kells. Today it is owned by a business consortium and largely occupied by a private prepartory boarding and day school.

The mansion dates back to 1760. The estate also consists of arable land, woods and a section of the Rvier Blackwater - private property....

Built during the 1820's for William Wallace Legge, a prominent Belfast merchant, the house has stood in lands little changed for over a century and a half. The estate that was planted shortly after the house was built, now supports a heritage of magnificent mature trees and woodland.

The house was presented to the City in 1946 by William Barnett. Leased to the National trust in early 1970's, many visitors have fond memories spent in the house and grounds. It was almost totally destroyed...

Drogheda, Louth
Mayoralty House which was erected by the Corporation in 1765 to accommodate municipal receptions and other such functions. It is a finely detailed pedimented building, two storeys high, of local limestone. The windows on the ground floor are roundheaded, while an elegant venetian window on the upper storey lends further distinction to the house. The Mayoralty House was the scene of many notable events in the history of Drogheda, not least of which was the conferring in 1884 on Charles Stewart...

This National Trust property is open again albeit to a very limited extent after a closure of more than twenty years. The parkland of the eighteenth century thatched cottage once a manor house was laid out by John Sutherland, 1745 to 1826, a disciple of Capability Brown.

Renvyle, Galway
This was originally the home of the Blakes, one of the tribes of Galway. Henry Blake purchased the Renvyle estate in 1680 from the Earl of Westmeath, who had been granted it under the Cromwellian settlements. Caroline Blake turned the house into a hotel in 1883. It was rebuilt following fire destruction in 1930....

Turbotstown, Longford, Longford
A Georgian Mansion about 200 years old is of historic and architectural interest. Designed by Francis Johnston, it was the home of the Dease Family until 1926. Edmund Fitzlaurance Dease, 1856-1934, author of "History of the Westmeath Hunt", and father of Maurice James Dease, C.C. - the first V.C. of World War 1 - was of this house. Dr. Thomas Dease, Bishop of Meath, 1621 -1652 was born here in 1569. The present owners are John and Brigid Donohoe and the house is open to the public....
