Bettystown, Meath
Meath has only a small coastline, but the beaches at Bettystown, Laytown and Mornington are beautiful, sandy and have safe, shallow bathing.
Please Note: None of these beaches have been awarded Blue Flags. They may not be the safest the swim in and you're not gauranteed of a life gaurd being on duty....

The dunes at Tyrella were probably formed following a fall in sea level after 6,500 BC, allowing blown sand to accumulate above the high water mark.
