The River Suck in Ballinasloe is deep and slow - it is probably Ireland's most productive coarse fishing river. There are great shoals of bream to 8Ibs everywhere and throughout the summer bags in excess of 100Ibs are common.

The stretch south of the town near Coreen ford has an excellent stock of tench to 6Ibs and rudd to 2Ibs are common. There is good road access at Coulagh and access at Dalysgrove north of Ballinasloe is over private property and permission should be sought.

These lakes have been designed as a feature of Craigavon City Park and cover an area of 168 acres. They are stocked with rainbow trout and the opening and closing date is announced annually. This is a lough of some 40 acres, 2 miles form Belleek on the A47 Pettigo road. It is stocked annually with brown and rainbow trout and being a limestone lough has a good stock of natural trout too. The season runs from 1 March to 30 September and there is a 4 trout bag limit and a 10 inch size limit. Only orthodox fly fishing is allowed. During the summer, the lake, with its cool, clear water fed from underground springs is a popular venue with locals and visitors.
