Wards Hotels is a small and comfortable 1 star hotel located in Lower Salthill just on the outskirts of Galway City.

The Hotel would like to advise check in time is between 2pm and 11pm. Please advise the hotel in advance if guests are to arrive at a later time.

From Galway City take the Salthill Road via Fr Griffin Road, follow the signs for lower Salthill, The Hotel is signposted from Fr Griffin Road.

Description

The bedrooms are well maintained with en-suite facilities. In room amenities include multi-channel TV, telephone, hairdryer as well as an iron on request and on-site secure car parking is also available. Wards Hotels is in an excellent location for touring Galway City and the surrounding countryside. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk to the city centre and the beach is 200 yards away. Premises accept bookings up to midnight.

While in the city centre, lap up the magic, the arts and theatres, the nightlife and the friendly locals.  Just five minutes from the hotel you can enjoy a romantic walk along the promenade looking out a Galway Bay.  After a busy day touring, you’ll appreciate the quiet village atmosphere of Salthill where you can mingle with the locals in the restaurants and pubs.

The hotel is very central to both Galway City and Salthill so no need for a car. Staff are very pleasant. Rooms are comfortable but beds could do with new pillows as the current ones are hard and uncomfortable.

Good price, good location. Full Irish breakfast, and walking distance to the city centre. There was a great bar, and the staff were really nice. Could do with some double glazed windows... room was a little chilly. There was an extra electric heater in the room, which we had to use.

Excellent hotel, lovely friendly place with unique rooms, worlds apart from the identikit clone hotels springing up around the country. Loved it and thanks to all staff we met.
