Located in Galway Bay in the West of Ireland lie the Aran Islands. Islands so rich in culture, history and heritage they have to be seen to be believed.

The length of trail is 8km (5 miles). The actual walking will take you 2 - 2.5 hours, but there is a lot to see on the Trail, so you should allow 4 - 5 hours if you are to enjoy it fully.

The route is marked by yellow arrows on limestone plaques, with an occasional - walking man - symbol. There are stiles wherever you need to cross a wall....

The length of the trail is 50km Inishmore, 8km Inishmaan, 10.5km Inisheer. The route on Inishmore is Cill Ronain -Cill Mhuirbhigh- Cill Einne. Inishmaan and Inisheer have circular walks from the piers.

The walks are specially designed to show the walker both the history of the island and how the islanders have created a living, thriving and happy community despite the harshness of their environment. The route marking system is stone markers with yellow arrows....
