Directions
Coming from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Shannon
Follow the road signs for Galway. As you approach Galway follow the city centre signs and continue towards Eyre Square. We are located 100 yards before you reach Eyre Square, on your right. To enter our carpark, take the last right before the hotel, then two lefts will bring you straight to us.
By Bus or Train:
Galway’s train and bus stations are located in the city centre, just a three minute walk from The Western Hotel. On exiting the station, turn left to head towards Eyre Square. Stay on the right of the square, passing the NTL offices on the right. Turn right at Richardson’s pub on the corner and proceed up Prospect Hill. We are located on the top of this hill on your left.
By Car:
Use the AA road watch website for full directions to Galway City. As you approach Galway follow the signs for the city centre and continue towards Eyre Square. We suggest you head straight to our car-park. Right before you reach our hotel you will see a small set of traffic lights. The road will provide you with two options: one to turn left towards Eyre Square and another to turn right down a small street (St Bridget’s Terrace) Turn right down this street, then the next left down the Cul de Sac. Our underground car park is located at the end of the Cul de Sac.
By Plane:
Galway Airport is located at Carnmore, just 8km north of the city. Note there is no bus service at this airport, therefore we recommend you avail of their car hire service, or use one of the many taxis available for hire at the airport. Approximate taxi fare to Galway city is €15.
