Rugged Connemara is very popular for hill waking with it's many untamed picturesque walks.  Other popular activities in the area include sea, lake and river fishing, pony trekking - with the well renowned Connemara Ponies.

Enjoyed the family relaxed environment with the discrete luxury of a long time established retreat. Loved the countryside and the surroundings, perfect location with no modern day life encumbrances. Professional and attentive staff, if at time a bit stiff. Overall, a lovely stay and a must come back holiday spot. Keep up the good work.

This hotel has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere- fabulous reception rooms, cosy fires, a warm yet grand dining room and really comfy beds! Add sea views, beautiful garden and connemara ponies and you've got the perfect get-away.Indeed we loved Rock Glen so much that we stayed an extra night. Breakfast and dinner were both wonderful and we can't wait to go back next year.

The hotels restaurant is very popular with guests with an great choice of meats, game and shellfish.  Guests can choose from an a la carte or table d'hote menu.  Popular dishes include wrlm salad of smoked duck with pistachio nut and strawberry dressing and pan fried fillet steak topped with a leek puree and smoked goobeen served with a garlic jus.

The lounge and piano bar is a great place for a relaxing drink with a turf fire and comfy armchairs.  In the evening guests can sit back and enjoy the soft music played by the resident pianist.
