Appreciate the beauty of the Aran Islands from a distance as you approach Rossaveal. Catch the ferry across to Inis Mór at Rossaveal, a quaint little village just 20 miles (1 hour drive) west of Galway City on the R336.
Once you take the ferry across, walk up from the pier in the direction of the village. At the cross, take a left and walk along the bay, the B&B is the second house on the left. a short bus ride from the airfield.
Within Walking Distance
History and archaeology are in abundance on the island with such ancient creations such as Dun Eochla, Dun Eoghanachta and Dun Duchathair - as shown in the photo, this ancient 'black fort' is set on a cliff top and within walking distance from the B&B. Located off the main tourist trail and not in the guide books Noirin will happily give you directions on how to get here. The other two ringforts are situated inland of the island and can be seen from the main road.
