Palmerstown Cottages together with Palmerstown Forge is surrounded by approx four acres of Parkland with pet donkey thereon. It is set back approx fifty meters from the main Athenry Road in a quiet rural setting is approximately 15.3km from Galway city and 6.3km from the village of Oranmore. The heritage town of Athenry is 7.3km approx.

Directions

The cottage is located mid way between Oranmore and Athenry, adjacent to the Dublin/ Galway N6 route. Palmerstown cottage has ranch style gates, red doors and windows


From Oranmore Village
Take the old Dublin Road and travel 0.8km to Oranbeg Roundabout, take 2nd exit onto N6 (Signposted Dublin) travel 4.3km approx turn left onto R348(Signposted Athenry) Travel for1.2km approx. entrance to Plamerstown cottage is on the left hand side with ranch style gates and sign on stonewall “Palmerstown Cottage”.

From Galway: Take the dual Carriageway N6 out of Galway and follow directions for Dublin until you come to the Oranbeg Roundabout on the outskirts of Ornamore. Take 1st exit onto N6 (Signposted for Dublin). Travel 4.3km approx. Turn left onto R348 for Athenry and travel for 1.2km approx. entrance to Palmerstown Cottage is on the left hand.

From the East:
Stay on N6 until approx 5km/3miles past Craughwell. At junction for R348 for Athenry, take a turn right. Travel for 1.2km/1 mile approx, cottage is on left hand side of road, black ranch style gates and sign on stonewall.

From the south:
On N18 road from Limerick/Shannon Airport, travel 6km/4miles approx. past Clarenbridge until you come to the Oranbeg Roundabout. Take 3rd exit onto the N6 signposted Dublin. Travel for 4.3km approx. Turn left onto the R348 and travel for approx 1.2km and entrance to Palmerstown Cottage is on the left hand side.

From the North
On N17 Take left turn at Church in Claregalway onto N18. Travel for 10km/6 miles approx to roundabout at Maldron Hotel. Take 1st exit on N6 For Dublin, continue to Oranbeg Rondabout. Take 1st exit onto N6 (Signposted Dublin). Travel 4.3km approx. Turn left onto R 348 (Signposted Athenry). Travel for 1.2km approx entrance to Palmerstown Cottage is on left hand side with black ranch style gates and sign on stonewall.

Palmerstown cottage is in a beautiful rural location. The coast lines of Clare and Galway are only a short drive away for those fantastic panoramic views of the clear blue sea and surrounding area.

The cottage accommodates six people comfortably. This charming property consists of downstairs entrance hall living room with wood burning stove, dining room, kitchen one twin bedroom and separate toilet. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms. One main bathroom with shower over bath and one shower room complete with toilet and hand basin, and an easy lounge/library. The cottage is ideally located as a base to tour the surrounding countryside of Co Clare and Connemara, while being just fifteen minutes  drive of the bustling city of Galway and its theatres, shops, bars and restaurants. The Championship Golf Course of Athenry, which hosts a very fine restaurant and Bar is within walking distance.

There are 3 cosy and nicely decorated bedrooms in this cottage which can sleep up to 6 people. Downstairs is a twin bedroom with 2 single beds.
Upstairs are a further 2 double bedrooms and family bathroom.
