Directions
From Galway City
From Galway City take the coast road where you will see fantastic views of County Clare and the Burren right across the bay. Appreciate the beauty of the Aran Islands from a distance as you approach Rossaveal.
Catch the ferry across to Inis Mór at Rossaveal, a quaint little village just 20 miles (1 hour drive) west of Galway City on the R336.
Once you take the ferry across, from the pier continue to walk in the direction of the village. At the cross, take a left and walk along this road. The B&B is the second house on the left.
Rooms
This family run property consists of 4 bedrooms all of which have en-suite facilities. Each of the guestrooms is individually decorated and maintained to a high standard. Room types include a double and single room, double room and twin room – all of them have panoramic sea views.
Imagine, waking up in the morning to the dawn chorus, the sound of the waves against the coast and the clean fresh and distinctive smell of the sea air. Pure Bliss!
Facilities
After a great nights sleep, wake up to the smell of fresh baking and a good old-fashioned ‘fry up’. Get your day off to a great start with a full Irish breakfast and all the trimmings. If you’re a little bit more health conscious then a continental breakfast with a selection of fruits juices and cereal might be more suitable.
Just so you are fully informed before you arrive in Inis Mór, this property does not accept credit cards.
Other facilities include a reading and information area.

History and archaeology are in abundance on the island with such ancient creations such as Dun Eochla, Dun Eoghanachta and Dun Duchathair - as shown in the photo, this ancient 'black forth' is set on a cliff top and within walking distance from the B&B. Located off the main tourist trail and not in the guide books Noirin will happily give you directions on how to get here. The other two ringforts are situated inland of the island and can be seen from the main road.
If you want to chill out, relax and take some time for yourself then a vacation to Inis Mór, one of the Aran Islands is just what you need!
Things to see and do in the area
The best way to appreciate the beauty and serenity of Inis Mór is to hire a bike and cycle around it. Traffic jams are unheard of unless a herd of sheep decide to cross the road! Meet the friendly locals in the local pubs where traditional music sessions are a daily occurrence. Otherwise take part in a céile held in the parish hall.
Sun worshippers will love the miles of beautiful and golden sandy beaches of the island. Dip your toes into the cool waters of the Atlantic or cast a line out and catch some of the local fish.
