Features of this stunning three bedroom holiday home include a fully fitted kitchen, a dining room with a stove, a separate living room and a ground floor bathroom with a shower. On the first floor there is also a shower and a toilet. For an evening in, there is multichannel TV and a DVD.
Outside there is a large garden, perfect for relaxing in during the summer and the owners of the property live next door. This is very useful should you need anything during your stay.

4 Star Self Catering property located on the shore of Lough Corrib. Herons Rest has 3 bedrooms, fully fitted kitchen, dining room with stove and a separate sitting room. There is a large garden outside.
Directions to herons rest
From Galway
Take the N84 road, turn left in Headford at the Traffic Lights and at Joyce's supermarket. Take the secong right hand turn (1.9 miles/3km).
Take the fifth byroad on the left (2.9 miles/4.6km). Ther is a sign at the top of the road for Heron's Rest. The house is the 5th property.
Rooms
This house consists of 3 bedrooms, one single bedroom is on the ground floor as well as a ground floor bathroom with shower. On the first floor there is a double and a twin bedroom and also a shower and toilet.

If being outdoors appeals to you, then this is the perfect holiday base. It is a fantastic location for angling on the shores of Lough Corrib and close to the Black River (boats and ghillies are available for hire locally). Wildlife enthusiasts have a wide variety of flora and fauna to see including some rare species e.g. pine marten, kingfisher, mute swan nesting site and bee orchids. Golf is available in nearby Ballinrobe. Local historical interests include Ross Abbey, Killursa and Moyne monastic sites, Ballycurrin Lighthouse, local ring-forts, Cong, Inchagoill(which can be visited by boat from beside Ashford Castle). It is also an ideal base for touring the surrounding countryside e.g. Connemara, Westport, Croagh Patrick and the Burren. However if the countryside is getting too much, Galway city is only 28km away where you can savour the laid back atmosphere of its shop lined streets and its many festivals (Arts Festival, Racing Festival and Oyster Festival).
