It is said that the best English in the world can be heard in Ireland. For years, the free flow of population between Ireland and Britain, and between Ireland and America, has enriched and renewed the language.
Galway Language Centre is a small, year-round English language school for adults (18+) founded by teachers, all of whom are university graduates with post-graduate qualifications and overseas teaching experience.

We offer a range of short-term and long-term courses in General English and Business English, as well as exam preparation and specialist options. During the summer months, students can enrol in our popular English On Holiday course for two or more weeks while pursuing their own holiday plans in the area.

On arrival students are tested for language level and placed in one of six levels from Beginner to Proficiency, in groups of no more than 8 students. The school consists of ten classrooms and has a maximum intake of 60 students.

Lessons are taught through the direct, communicative approach, supplemented by sound and video material, giving students practice in all four linguistic skills, with an emphasis on oral fluency and comprehension. Class discussions often range over subject matter as diverse as Irish culture, current affairs, the environment, urban life and other contemporary issues. Students are encouraged to take an active, creative role in their lessons and to express their own interests and experience in their English language work.
Galway, the commercial and cultural capital of the West Coast of Ireland, is a charming University town of 50,000, located on Galway Bay and surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt countryside. GETTING TO GALWAY: Dublin can be reached by direct flights from most major European cities and by boat from Britain and France. There are also direct flights to Galway from Dublin via Aer Lingus. Alternatively, there are frequent city buses from Dublin Airport direct to the main Dublin bus station and Heuston Station (railway) in the city centre for connections to Galway. For students whose flights arrive in Dublin too late in the evening to make a Galway connection, the School can arrange guesthouse accommodation for the night near the airport, if given sufficient notice.
