Being on the Westport Road it’s easy to find. All 11 rooms are ensuite (all with shower some with bath also) with WiFi & every modern convenience. Your warm welcome includes afternoon tea by the turf fire where there is always a cuppa available. Our extensive breakfast menu, free-range eggs, home baking, tasteful décor, stunning mountain views, Friendly Connemara Ponies, Free Wifi, Computer and Printer for guests use, and many extra touches ensure return visits. Buttermilk Lodge Guesthouse From Galway : (90 minutes drive) take N59 for Clifden. As you arrive in town, turn right at the Topaz petrol station, we are 400 metres up this road on the left. From Westport : (60 minutes) take N59 for Clifden. We are on the right as you arrive in town 100 metres after the Clifden sign.

Clifden and Connemara offer a wide variety of things to do: Visit Omey Island, Inishbofin Island, the Aran Islands, Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Roundstone Musical Instruments, Connemara Smokehouse, Ballyconneely Golf Course, Leeann Cultural Centre, Dan O Hara’s Heritage Centre, Clifden Museum etc Take a drive on the famous Sky Road, and any of the numerous peninsulas etc the scenery is breathtaking! There are too many sandy beaches and lakes to name. The Twelve Bens, Maumturks etc. offer excellent walking. There is live music in one of the pubs of Clifden most nights all year round, and nightly in summer time. The restaurants, pubs and cafes etc offer excellent dining to meet all tastes and budgets!
Located 400 metres from Clifden town, this family run property prides itself in guest comfort and satisfaction. All room are ensuite,with all the modern amenities supplied. Take time out to walk into Clifden where you are spoilt for choice with bars, restaurants and attractions.
Buttermilk Lodge Guesthouse All 11 bedrooms have private shower room, some also have baths. There are some ground-floor rooms. Double Rooms have one King or Queen size bed, Twin Rooms have two single beds, and Triple Rooms have a double bed and a single bed. The bedrooms are spacious and well maintained, they are individually decorated with original art, plants etc. All rooms are carpeted and have blackout curtains. All rooms have multi-channel TV, radio alarm clock, direct dial telephone, wifi, hairdryer, ironing facilities, personal toiletries, towels etc. .

Excellent location on the edge of Clifden, handy to everything important, but easy to escape.
Buttermilk Lodge Guesthouse The guest lounge has a real turf fire, complimentary tea/coffee facilities, corkscrews, bottle openers and glasses, original art, board games, books and lots of local information. The breakfast room is bright and airy; guests help themselves to juices, cereals, preserved and fresh fruits, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses, freshly baked croissants and scones and our homemade breads. Then they choose from the selection of hot beverages and freshly cooked breakfasts on offer, Irish Breakfast, Homemade Pancakes, Smoked Salmon etc In the upstairs lounge there is a computer and printer for guests use. As our home is non smoking a smoking area is located outside. The garden is large with seats, and stunning views. The elevated rear garden offers stunning views to the town of Clifden and the Twelve Bens. We raise Connemara Ponies and Connemara Blackface Sheep on our land nearby, guests are welcome to visit them, and can meet Toby, our sheepdog and Harley our Golden Retriever if they wish.
