From it's many mountain peaks, sandy beaches, pre-historic bogs and lakes, Connemara captures the beauty of the West of Ireland. Take a drive on the 45km Connemara Loop to get a feel for the area, the villages and of course the people.
Carraroe
Carraroe is one of the few Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) areas left in Ireland today. This village is a very important area for promoting the Irish language and culture such as Irish singing, dancing and of course Irish Summer Schools to keep the Irish language alive.
This is a very popular area with other Irish-speaking holidaymakers. Trout fishing is also very popular in the area with Loughaunwillin and Carraroe Lough situated to the north of the village.
