An eight day event to cater for equestrian lovers, family entertainment, music and craic. Something to suit all tastes! Horse and pony events, show jumping, street stalls, fireworks, tug o war and vintage parade.

Garbally Park: Now known as St Joseph's college and is the seminary for the diocese of Clonfert. This Mansion was built around 1824 by the Earl of Clancarty.

Ballinasloe Castle: On the River Suck, this was built by the O'Kelly's in the 14th Century. All that remains today is one tower and part of a wall.

St. Michael's Church: Was built betweeen 182 and 188. This Church contains some of the works of Harry Clark, Mia Carnwell and Albert Power.

St. John's Gothic Church:Built with cut stone in 1811, it is much admired because of its clock tower.

Outside Ballinasloe Town: Approx. 6 miles outside Ballinasloe is the ruins of the Franciscan Friary of Kilconnell founded in 1353.

Clontuskert Abbey: Approx. four miles outside Ballinasloe on Portumna Road, St Mary's Abbey was built on a monastic foundation of St Baethen (A.D. 805). It was destroyed by fire around 1413 and restored in 1637.

Clonfert Cathedral: On the road to Banagher about 12 miles from Ballinasloe. Here you will find one of the most highly developed examples of Irish Romanesque architecture in the form of a magnificent doorway.

Our Lady of Clonfert: On the road to Banagher about 8 miles from Ballinasloe. In this Catholic Church you will find a carved wooden figure of Our Lady going back to the 13th Century.

Clonmacnoise: Situated on the River Shannon about 12 miles from Ballinasloe you will find the ruins of this ancient house of learning established in 548 A.D. by St Ciaran and continued until 1552 when it was destroyed. Students came here from the continent and many of its monks became famous in Europe for spreading Christianity. These ruins are well worth a visit as are the ornamental slabs and Holy Wells, in this very tranquil spot.
