lough awaddy

This is a small lough on the Fermanagh - Donegal border. It is approached off the B136 Belleek-Pettigo road. Take the by road to the north 2 miles west of Pettigo and one and a half miles along that road there is a forest road to the lough with a car park by the shore. The trout here average a half lb and rise freely. An average catch should produce 3-4 trout and it is possible to get fish hee up to about one and three quarters lbs. It can be fished all round and wading is possible, but be careful. Fly hatches are poor and the trout here are not fussy about which fly they take. Permission: Not usually required
