fermanagh ulster scots festival

The “Fermanagh Ulster-Scots Festival” is taking place within the beautiful setting of the National Trust Estate Castle Coole, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.
The festival will provide entertainment and activities for all the family – the fun kicks off at 11 am and will finish at around 6pm.
Entrance to the festival will be free and among the varied line up for the day will be X-factor stars The McDonald Brothers, Peter Corry and The Alexander Brothers.
Also included in the programme of events will be music, language, highland games and a re-enactment from Best of Times Worst of Times.
This festival has been organised by the Ulster-Scots Agency as a celebration of the history and legend surrounding the Border Reivers – a strong element of Ulster-Scots history. Border Reivers were fierce fighting people who plundered in the Anglo-Scottish borders before settling in Ulster during the Plantation years of the 17th and 18th Centuries. <
