Excellent friendly service and lovely hotel.
Staff was really friendly and there is nothing to complain about, very good hotel!
When i got to my room it was extremely cold and there was no heating working.I had to phone reception and a mobile heater was brought to my room. I also had to request ordinary coffee as there was only de-caff available.I was given a room with a dividing door to another ( family rooms ) and could hear TV and conversation loudly until early hours. Overall not happy with the room experience.
The bartender was lovely and very nice. The "reception" girls could not have been more rude and unhelpful if they tried. It was the last day of a 2 wk trip and i "treated" myself to a not cheap hotel; very disappointing.
I arrived after the restaurant had closed at 9.30pm. The only food available from room service was sandwiches which I found quite disappointing for a city centre hotel. Also, I was charged €5.50 for a 1/4 bottle of wine in the bar before 11.30pm. I had another 1/4 bottle after 11.30pm, ordered through the night porter which cost €7.00, a 27% price increase for no apparent reason. I have not encountered this before and don't understand why it should happen, for what is after all a normal service supplied by every hotel.
ROOM WAS CLEAN AND AIRY BUT BASIC
THe phones did not work, we were put on the same floor as a wedding party, hence we got no sleep as they were running around the halls until 6.30am. We said it to the staff and got absolutely no satisfaction.
The outside of the hotel looks awful but the inside is beautiful and we were very happy with our stay. We made use of the swimming pool and enjoyed our stay.
The Regency Hotel is top class. We always stay there if we are going on a break to Dublin, the staff are very helpful and frendly and nothing is to much trouble for them.
Wife was slightly disappointed with the room but I had no problem. We had looked at a lot of prices and this was value for money. Will stay again when in the Dublin area.
The hotel is very well placed for Dublin City centre ( a 10 min bus ride with buses running from just outside the hotel frequently) Check in was smooth and trouble free. Room was very nice, clean comfortable bed and decoration in good state. The hotel was badly let down by its breakfast arrangements. The Regency takes the concept of self service to a new extreme. Fistly a sign which says wait here to be seated . .. .no one came. There were no free tables, although a large breakfast area and at the time we went for breakfast not terribly busy the vast majority of tables were littered with used breakfast dishes. Having got tired of waiting, with staff just by passing we had to clear a table ourselves and try to find cutlery which the staff just seemed to find really helpfull. We asked for coffee we got tea. We had to ask 3 times for butter and eventually people at the next table gave us some. A pleasant hotel, well located spoilt by its attitude towards breakfast
The staff were fantatic all over the hotel except front desk!!! I will return again as it is a great facility, location, great food & mostly friendly staff.
