Location: Bus 42 to Malahide then walk along the coast road eastwards for 1km.

Distance: 4km/2.5 miles.

Starting point: Begin at the carpark and walk southwards along the strand.

Route: The beach is covered by the high tide to the north of Robswalls Castle. Here, the rocks have traces of creatures which slightly resemble cockle shells. After the ridges of rocks there is a small beach and another bed of limestone. Continue southwards and you will notice that the rocks dip northwards, giving a gentle ascent towards the south, this ends in a sharp drop. The scene changes again as the Portmarnock Velvet Strand replaces the rocky coast. At the Martello Tower, you can turn back by taking the footpath above the rocky shore.
