Located at the end of a cobbled courtyard near to the river, the Brazen Head enjoys the accolade of being Dublin's oldest pub. The inn dates back to the 12th century although the structure has naturally changed since then. The Brazen Head was frequented at times by Robert Emmet, Wolfe Tone, Daniel O' Connell and many other notable men.

When Robert Emmet stayed here he occupied the room overlooking the passageway leading to the door of the inn and from which all callers to the house could be observed. Emmets writing desk, treasured relic of the past, is here to this day. The place is immersed in centuries of history of secret meetings of rebels and smugglers and is absolutely the genuine article.
