The Solomon Gallery was established in 1980 and is situated in the original drawing room of an eighteenth-century Georgia townhouse formerly owned by Lord Powerscourt. Now considered one of Ireland's leading contemporary art galleries, the Solomon has built its reputation on representing Irish and international painters and sculptors working primarily in a figurative style. The Solomon Gallery also deals in fine Irish period paintings and sculpture including work by Jack B. Yeats, Roderic O'Conor, Sir John Lavery and FE McWilliam. Director: Suzanne Macdougald. Exhibitions are mounted every three weeks, concentrating mainly on solo exhibitions, with the exception of three annual group shows. The Solomon is renowned for showing the best in Irish sculpture and contemporary glass. All visitors are very welcome.
