The early Irish attribute many great mythic and mystical events to the seasons and the traditional celebration of Samhain - or Halloween - marks the end of the Harvest Season, the approach of winter and the Celtic new year.

Along with Saint Patrick's, Samhain is one of the few genuinely Irish cultural traditions, attracting visitors the world over - any excuse to party.
The Irish equivalent of Mardi Gras, the Halloween Parade takes over the inner city with its unique blend of colourful lights and inventive costumes. This year Halloween falls on a Friday, so be sure to plan ahead for this must see event on October 31st.
