No noise at all from railway bridge overhead. Rooms very smart(if a little small) BUT very well packaged - ironing board/iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee - Complimetary bottled water - all a very nice touch. Location very central - just a 5 minute walk straight up Talbot Street onto O'connell street (spire)- Buses do run directly opposite hotel if needed. Breakfast SUPERB - Full Irish (2 sausages, 2 bacon, scrambled egg, fried egg, black and white pudding, tomato, beans, toast, hash brown. Also continental breakfast and as much fresh juice, tea and coffee as you like - BRILLIANT really sets you up for the day- Overall great value. Highly reccomended - would certainly stay there agian.
Great hotel and would stay there again. Great location with easy access to central Dublin. Breakfast could have been better, staff not that friendly and they slop your food on the plate like you are in some kind of school hostel. Other than that we will stay here again in a heartbeat.
We both felt the Ripley Court was an excellent hotel and was excellent value for money. The location of this hotel is perfect for all local tourism and shopping and although the area the hotel is situated it is a little run down the hotel itself more than makes up for this - this hotel proves that you should definitely not judge a book by its cover.
The rooms were clean, tidy and quiet. The bar was very quiet but reasonable. It was very difficult getting back into the hotel from the basement car park - you had to prop the door open to make sure you could access the stairs or just hope that the gates at the top of the ramp stayed open.
My stay in the Ripley Court Hotel, was extremely lovely. The lady on reception was very nice and friendly. The food in the Bistro was fab. Overall my stay was good, and I will be recommending it to friends heading to Dublin.
Everything was great. Staff was very helpful with setting up taxi to airport.
Very central with private and secure parking! Would go there again!
Good value - great location but rooms were very warm - could do with air con or at least a fan!
The hotel was better than we expected, in terms of service and facilities. It definitely covered our needs and fully met our requirements.
The rooms were a bit threadbare but extremely clean . The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help. The location is great and I had a two really good night' sleep there as the room was really quiet which I hadn't expected as the hotel is on a busy road.
Beds were very uncomfortable, breakfast not too good either, hotel in general was acceptable, bar is bit boring, not ideal for young people, but it was very good value for money.
Am a regular in the Ripley. Very convenient hotel to stay in. Rooms are well presented. Prices are usually very good also. If i could improve one thing it would be the tv stations available as ither hotels have a far better selection.
The owner / manager Frank was very friendly and helpful.
My first time in Dublin with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel and room as compared to the street outside. Absolutely a hotel that gives you value for money. The location is great and convenient in terms of transport as the bus station is merely a 5 minute walk but get the directions from the kind and friendly staff especially Angeline, a Malaysian. The room given us was more than bargained for, in fact was thought to be a mistake because of it being so spacious. One warning is of the noise that could be heard if you are in the wrong side of the hotel, because of the trains running above. I was lucky that only a distant sound was heard but I am not sure of othher rooms. All in all, the hotel and service was great for the money and is highly recommended to those conscious of thrift! Augustine Basnayake - stayed on 1st July 2008, room 239
Everything was fine, nice and clean rooms and fresh bathrooms! Breakfast OK! Staff friendly and helpful! Close to the city centre, just a few blocks away from Connell Street and walking distance to everything we wanted to see! One thing I would have needed was an adapter to be able to charge my mobile telephone - the hotel had just a few of these and were not available for all guests...
Good, clean with friendly staff
Looks very classy for a 2-star hotel. Quite impressed with everything. Staff very helpful and friendly.
very good value
The Ripley Court is a nice hotel. For us, the location was actually perfect because it was near some of the places we had to go to. I would definitely stay there again.
The Ripley Court is a fantastic hotel, full of traditional Irish Charm & hospatality. My partner & I arrived on a tuesday tvening & were pleasently welcomed by the reception staff in the hotel who informed us of services available & directed us to our room. A Lovley Spacious warmly decorated room on the second floor. We had dinner Arrangments that evening so sadly did not get to try the Hotel Evening Menu. However the Irish Breckfast in the morning was superb & the dining room was lovley with Murals of Dublin in by-gone times. All-in-all I was Amazed to find such a Quality Hotel at such a resonable cost. Well done to all the staff & Keep up the good work. We are looking foward to our next stay already.
Fantastic place and value for money. Great location. Very clean and friendly.
the hotel is very handy for the city centre and is excellent value for money
Hotel nicer than it looks from the outside. Not in the nicest area, next to the elevated train line. Hotel fine.
Excellant location, food was good. Great value for money!!
cleaning, breakfast.
The room was clean and functional. The bathroom was a bit tight for manouvering. However the view of a stone wall as the only view from the room made it unpleasant to be in. The staff were robotic, offered no welcome, were mostly Eastern European, and lacking any character or conversation. I could have been anywhere. The breakfast was ok, but not ok enough to actually look forward to it. Coffee was pretty good. We would not stay there again or recommend it. The website did'nt state that some rooms had no daylight them, and were opressive.
the positive point is proximity to the city centre and the the wrong side is the smell of frying in the hall
Location was excellent for exploring Dublin. Room was comfortable for a 1 night stay but excellent value for money
The room was really clean and comfortable. Perhaps it would have been better to have separate shampoo in the bathroom, instead of shower gel and shampoo combined.
We wanted no frills, and got it. The admin staff we good and helpful. The garage parking was a welcome bonus and was a factor in our choice of hotel. The rooms all had some facilities niggles, but nothing to complain about. Sleep was occasionally broken in Room 319 as it overlooks what I presume was kithchen/air conditioning fans which cut in and out at all hours. Overall, I would choose the hotel again.
everything was good, they even look after your luggage after you have checked out until you are ready to leave dublin
The Ripley Court was a pleasant surprise. It had an air of old world charm, with very reasonable rates. The rooms were well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. Have recommended to my friends.
Convenient location & good room. Nice way to start the trip.
The staff were wonderful, every helpful and polite. The location was perfect, its only a 10-15 minute walk to everything.
I would definately come back here
It is not a flash hotel, it is a bit tweed and needs updating in parts. However it was clean and comfortable and offered good value for money. Good location too, centre of town only 10 min stroll. On the down side, they just do not cater for smokers at all and if anything I felt that there was a strong anti-smoker policy, I wouldn't stay there again for that reason. There was a notice in the room stating that "it is illegal to smoke in these premises", however this is a falsehood, it is not illegal to smoke in a hotel room in Ireland. They should distinguish between their Policies and the law of the land, there is a difference.
Good location friendly staff
Nice, clean, classy
Very nice hotel, but for 105 euro i'd think that check out should be around 12 not 11am.
Good location and friendly staff
The hotel is very good inside although the almost total lack of local staff makes the experience quite unreal. The restaurant is off putting because of the odours it produces. The rooms are excellent. The location is not the best but is very central. I will be recommending Ripley Court to friends
No internet access in room. Dinner was same price as lunch excellent value. Staff were brilliant - overall great value!
The hotel is basic and somewhat dated but was clean and in a very convemient location. We were satisfied with our room for a weekend break to Dublin and would stay here again as it offered good value for money.
The hotel was excellent, clean and the food was plentiful and lovely.
I stay in the Ripley Court Hotel on a regular basis. Receptionists are generally very welcoming etc. Good breakfast. Will stay there again.
Everything was ok and the value for money was very high
Nice location, quiet and friendly.
Good friendly service, room could be a bit warmer but as the weather was mild it was not necessary to mention it.
It's a good place near in the center of the city.
Excellent value and accomodating staff.
Good location Staff very helpful
The Ripley court was excellent. The hotel provided additional bed linen, beds v.comfortable and the facilities and staff within the hotel would encourage me to highly recommend the hotel for future guests.
I THOUGHT IT WAS CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
my daughter and I were more than pleased with everything. The staff were always willing to accomodate our every need. we were allowed to leave our luggage early-even efore we had booked in!!! and also when we were leaving our flight wasn't till late at night and we left our luggagetill the last moment-this saved alot of worry for us. i have already reccomended the hotel to my family and my sister is very interested in staying there herself!!! thanks for a 'home from home'-without having to lift a finger to do any housework!!!
Everything was great, we would definately book Ripley Court Hotel again and we would have no problem in recommending it to friends.
Clean, quite good
we were three people travelling, it was great having a big room. I wrote excellent to everying considering it is a 2 star hotel and I think that it is a very good one. The service there was also very good.
All good, but would have been nice to have wireless internet!
enjoyed our stay at the ripley court hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were lovely and spaceous.
Very reasonable for the price. Good location for city.
Reception excellent. We had been driving down to Dublin and needed directions to Ripley Court. Girls on desk spot on! Very clear and helpful. Door/garage attendant also extremely couteous and helpful.Central location was a bonus.
The receptionist was very helpful.
No problems at all.
The best place I stayed in in Ireland. Very central too.
Staff were courteous and location not bad. Is a little walk from where it is all happening a night so would not walk on your own.
Good value for money, keeping in mind that it's close to the city centre.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We checked in earlier than expected and there was a room available to store our luggage so we could go into town. Staff most obliging, calling taxis for us. Excellent value for money.
Nicer rooms and cheaper prices than other hotels in the neighborhood that we have also stayed at. The breakfast marginal--much better at other places.
Very nice clean accommodation and would use again without a problem, staff were friendly just wish is was slightly further down the road but apart from that excellent.
Excellent location for price.
The hotel is minutes walk from the shops, night life etc. The staff very help full.
Very central, good parking, friendly staff.
Good basic hotel and not too far from centre of things.
