The Irish National Sailing School is generally regarded as Ireland's foremost sailing school. We provide an extensive fleet of sailing vessels, modern comfortable facilities and the highest calibre personnel available. Level 1/2 Courses: General foundation courses which provide coaching in rules of the sea, safety, recovery exercises and rigging in vessels of the specified courses. Level 1: A short course for novices providing a taste of what sailing is about. Level 2: A basic course in learning to sail, covering the skills required of a pupil to take out a boat in light to moderate conditions.
Motor/Power Boats Level 1/2: Introduction to powered craft, general manoeuvering, varying engine types and recovery of craft. Upon successful completion of courses all students are granted an ISA/RYA Certificate. The INSS provide a comprehensive range of courses to the most advanced levels, includig School courses, Instructor Programmes, Sailing Levels 1-5, Spinnaker Courses, Junior Courses and an Environmental Studies programme.
This programme is particularly suited to Transition year students, comprising of Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing, Orienteering, Sea and Shore Environmental Studies. The INSS is recognised by the Irish Tourist Board (Bord Failte), Irish Sailing Association, Royal Yachting Association, National Council for Vocational Awards and Topper International.
Safety and Tuition: The INSS conforms to all regulatory safety standards, all our Instructors are fully qualified and friendly. We provide full water supervision at all times. All safety equipment is provided by the INSS. The Irish National Sailing School is recognised to the highest international standard and conforms to all sea safety standards as laid down by the governing authorities in sailing. The INSS is located on the west pier, Dun Laoghaire, within easy distance of Dublin City Centre by Dart.
