Mel Bradley hand-painted silks have a special quality of their own. Each piece of fine silk is a uniquely designed, elegant accessory for the fashion conscious woman. Mel Bradley began producing her original silks at the Tower Design centre, Dublin in 1983, after completing four years in textile design at the National College of Art and Design. Her inspiration is derived from natural forms and colours plentiful in the Irish countryside. The design is drawn on the silk "stretched over a frame" and hand-painted with great care. Once the colours have ben applied, they are steam-fixed and the silk is washed to remove residues. Hand rolled edges give the scarves a superior finish. Mel Bradley works with the high fashion industry at home and abroad. Her silks are available in the UK, Europe, Japan and the Caribbean.
