Mattress was antiquated and very uncomfortable, sagging in the middle. Not what one would expect in a 4 star hotel. O'Connell Street, where the Gresham is located, is about 15 minute walk from the real centre of Dublin - Grafton Street.
We found the bedroom to be spacious and clean. The iced fairy cakes to welcome us a very nice touch.Unfortunately we felt the staff to be rather stand-offish - not as friendly as we had experienced elsewhere. The food in the bar and lounge was very good but unfortunately the main restaurant was closed in the evenings.
very good location old hotel with charm
excellent Facility with a professional staff.
Lack of any info in the room regarding hotel amenities and no info about Ireland or Dublin. No mention of the hotel restaurants or bars, no room service menu, no laundry or dry cleaning list. No net on window, overlooked by carpark.
Overall the accomodation was just OK however I was appauled at the cost of the continental breakfast; €18 for two boiled eggs.
I thought that the staff should have been more prepared for a Bank Holiday Weekend and the rooms were very basic - no menus, hotel directory or water.
The gresham was a beautiful comfortable and friendly hotel. THe location was perfect. However the staff did give me wrong information about what i could bring on the plane. I was very angry about that because it was incorrect. Other than that everything was great. I would book on goireland.com again
WELL LOOKED AFTER, CLEAN, TIDY AND VERY COMFORTABLE HOTEL.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpfull. The restaurant food was beautiful. The location was perfect.
Excellent location and a bit of luxury.
Excellent hotel and location could not be better.
For the deal we got, the rooms were fantastic. We decided to go shopping the following day and there was no hassle with the hotel to mind our bags, which was brilliant.
We completely enjoyed our stay in the Gresham and have recommended it to many of our friends, even one couple who wanted to begin their Irish honeymoon with a night in Dublin. The hotel provided old style glamour and opulence at down to earth prices. The foyer on arrival, with its magnificent chandeliers and marble floors showcases the history of the hotel to it's best. On our first visit my partner kept checking he had his visa just in case I had got the price wrong, as he was sure we couldn't afford a hotel like this. But everything was as stated when booked and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
Convenient and clean. The staff was terrific.
