To be quite simple about it, the object of golf is to hit a small dimpled ball with a golf club a predetermined distance into a hole in the ground. The ball is played from a teeing area to a green where the hole is indicated by a flag. The distances between teeing area and green vary from as little as 90 yards to more than 600 yards. If you are thinking of starting golf, some say that all you need initially is one lesson. This might last for only thirty minutes, but you will soon discover whether or not you are going to enjoy golf. Some people progress by going on special golfing holidays to improve their game. Driving ranges are a good idea, because there is no limit to how much time you can spend there. And, you don't have to be a club member. However, it is recommended that you go to a driving range without having first learned some of the basics.
Rates
Initially, you will probably need just a few clubs. When it comes to purchasing a full set of high-class clubs, it could cost between €500 and €1,000 - it pays to get the advice of a professional. Beginners shouldn't pay more than €300 for a set of golf clubs.
